2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to install an oil pan on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: First add Mopar(R) Engine RTV GEN II to the oil pump side of the oil pump joint before installing the engine oil pan. After that, put the oil pan gasket on the block and then fit the oil pan, tightening all the screws to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). After that, set in the new adapter and gasket and screw them down tightly to reach 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Once you have turbocharger equipped vehicles, change the seal around the oil cooler, lubricate it and put the oil cooler on the adapter end of the oil filter. Make sure the notch lines up with the tab before installing the bolt and tightening it to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.). Following that, put the oil drain plug and oil filter into place. Put in the structural collar and tighten the lower torque strut. On vehicles that have a turbocharger, fix it to the charge air cooler hose. In the end, lower the car and top up the oil to the right level in the engine, then run the engine to watch for leaks.
