2009 Dodge Caliber Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Rear Brake Disc on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: First, raise and support the car before taking out the rear brake rotor. Following that, unscrew the wheel mounting nuts and take off the tire with the wheel still attached. Sometimes, you will need to pull back on the piston a little to ensure enough space between the pads and rotor so you can remove the caliper from the knuckle; use the guide pins and avoid putting pressure directly on the piston in this process. After that, take out the disc brake caliper lower guide pin bolt. Be careful when raising the rear brake caliper so you don't hurt or force the flex hose. Hold the caliper and turn it upward so that the rotor can be taken off, then hold the caliper in place using wire or a bungee cord. After removing the clips holding the rotor to the wheel studs, pull the rotor back off its original spot on the hub and bearing.
