2009 Dodge Caliber Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Brake Master Cylinder with ABS on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before anything else, put pressure on the brake pedal 4-5 times without running the engine to remove any vacuum from the power brake booster. Disconnect one end of the negative ground cable from the battery and separate that section. After that, separate the wiring connector from the brake fluid level switch in the master cylinder brake fluid reservoir. Separate the main and emergency brake tubes at the connections on the master cylinder and then put plugs into all the open tube outlets there. Remove the clamp from a manual transaxle and take the clutch actuator hose off the reservoir port. Wipe the area by the master cylinder attachment, where the power brake booster is fastened, with a proper brake cleaner. Afterward, disconnect the nuts securing the master cylinder to the booster and push it all the way out of the booster housing.
