2009 Dodge Dakota Alternator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install the Alternator on a 3.7L or 4.7L Engine on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: To install the generator using the 3.7L or 4.7L engine, place it so it is over the engine, use 2 transverse bolts and 1 vertical bolt and then tighten each bolt following the settings in the manual. Lay the field wire connector into place at the back of the generator and fit the B+ terminal eyelet onto the generator's stud, tightening it by following the detailed torque specifications. You shouldn't use a screwdriver to push a belt over a pulley rim, because it can harm the fiber in the belt. When putting on a serpentine accessory belt, make sure it's routed the correct way; this will keep the water pump from rotating backward, resulting in your engine overheating; look at the instructions on the belt routing label to know where to put it. Afterwards, fit the drive belt on the generator and attach the negative cable back to the battery.
