2009 Dodge Dakota Starter Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Starter Motor for a 3.7L or 4.7L Engine with Manual or Automatic Transmission on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: The solenoid wire should be attached to the starter motor before the manual transmission is linked to install the 3.7L or 4.7L engine starter. After that, put the battery cable in place at the solenoid stud and tighten the battery cable eyelet nut exactly as described, ensuring freedom around the starter motor harness. Following that, fit the starter motor to the transmission and screw in and tighten the lockwasher nut and bolt according to the torque settings. After putting the car on bottle jacks, attach one end of the negative battery cable to the battery to finish lowering the car. With a 3.7L or 4.7L engine using an automatic transmission, first run the solenoid wire to the starter motor. Direct the battery cable to the solenoid stud, screw in the eyelet nut onto the cable and make sure not to hang the starter motor from the harness while working. Set the starter motor in place on the transmission and, if it's an automatic car, fit the cooler tube bracket in place too. Put both bolts in place and tighten them according to the torque instructions and finally lower the vehicle to attach the other side of the negative battery cable.
