2009 Dodge Dakota EGR Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the EGR Valve on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before anything else, pull up any Diagnostic Trouble Codes on the car's computer using the right scan tool. Take the negative lead off the battery. You should then unplug the EVAP purge solenoid from the cast metal bracket underneath. The connecting tube between the EGR valve and the intake manifold holds the EGR valve; unscrew the two tubing bolts and slide off the other end from where it connects to the intake manifold. Unfasten and pull the gasket linked between the tube flange and the EGR valve solenoid. Take out the connector from the solenoid and then free the two bolts holding the EGR valve solenoid to the engine. Remove the solenoid from the engine and toss out the gasket that is underneath it.
