2009 Dodge Durango Air Bag Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Install an Air Bag Control Module for Optimal Functionality on 2009 Dodge Durango?
A: Before fitting the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC), you must disable the SRS so the air bag system isn't activated. You do this by disconnecting the car battery's negative cable and waiting for two minutes. When the Hybrid mode is available, take out the high voltage service disconnect from the high voltage battery pack. Ensure the arrow on the ORC label is pointing forward as the locating pin on the right mounting flange engages the ORC bracket while positioning it on the floor panel transmission tunnel. Attach the ORC to the bracket using three screws, set them tight and use a torque wrench to ensure they are tightened to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Release the levers on the ORC wire harness connectors and then put them into the module's receptacles, making sure to latch both latches. Secure the center console into position at the bottom center of the transmission tunnel, but do not link the negative battery cable or the HEV service disconnect yet. Once you have finished installation, check the system using the SRS verification test.
