2009 Dodge Durango Brake Booster Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Brake Booster with ESP on 2009 Dodge Durango?
A: To use ESP to service the vacuum brake booster, first press the brake five times to finish using the existing vacuum in the unit. Siphon the fluid from the reservoir, after which remove the wiper arm and cowl assembly. After connecting the electrical connectors, remove the master cylinder mounting nuts. Pull the hoses from their attachment to the check valve but leave the check valve in its place and then remove your inner fender well. Loose the fasteners for the IPM and move it forward so you have room to take out the master cylinder. Take care to remove the master cylinder and reservoir assembly from the booster, making sure the unit is vertical at the front of the booster to avoid disrupting the booster output rod. Take the master cylinder away from the booster and towards the engine, before you remove the brake lamp switch and do not reuse it. After that, pull out the clip attaching the booster push rod to the brake pedal and undo the brake booster nuts. Remove the brake booster, spacer block and gasket from the front cowl panel, cleaning any trash from the brake booster hole.
