    A: In order to remove the crankshaft, remove the engine from the vehicle and then the oil pump. Do not go prying on the oil pan gasket. Remove bedplate bolts, marking stud bolt location. Disconnect connecting rods, handle bedplate carefully and use designated pry points to remove bedplate, and then crane out the crankshaft.
