A: Begin the installation by cleaning the gasket surfaces and checking the oil pan gasket; if it is damaged, put on a new gasket. Use some 1/8 in. Mopar Engine RTV on the front T-joints between the cylinder block and the timing chain cover and at the back T-joints between the main seal retainer and the engine block as well. Line up the swing oil pump pick and place the oil pan and oil gasket on the engine block with hand tightened fasteners. For bolts 1 - 15, set the torque to 1 - 15 to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.) and for bolts 16 - 19, torque to 12 Nm (106 in lbs.). Screw the transmission to oil pan bolts in until the bolts grip the head, then tighten them to 28 Nm or 21 ft. lbs. Attach the fasteners holding the A/C line to the oil pan and then put the inspection cover onto the flywheel. Sit the vehicle back down, add oil up to the appropriate level in the crankcase, run the engine and look for leaks.
