How to Service and Repair a Trunk Lid Latch on 2009 Jeep Commander?

The first thing to do when working on the latch is to disconnect the battery negative cable. Come next, take out the trim panel found on the liftgate. Put the watershield to the side so you can reach the latch and unplug the electrical connectors from it. Take out the latch cable from the liftgate handle and separate the help clips. Get rid of the three fixing screws holding the latch to the liftgate and after that, remove the latch from inside the vehicle.
