2009 Jeep Liberty Brake Booster Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Brake Booster on 2009 Jeep Liberty?
A: When you're installing on a left-hand drive vehicle, align the booster on the dash panel and put on the booster mounting nuts before tightening them until the booster doesn't move. Please lubricate the pedal pin with Mopar multi-mileage grease before installing the wheel. Move the booster push rod onto the brake pedal, then attach it to the pedal pin with a retaining clip. Adjust the booster mounting nuts so the pressure reads 25 Nm (or 220 in lbs.). Replace the stop lamp switch as soon as the original is not in place; do not try to adjust it again. Put in the knee blocker after the vehicle is secure. If the master cylinder is being used again, inspect its seal at the back and put a new one in when the old one is damaged. Wiping the cylinder mounting area of the brake booster with a towel soaked in brake cleaner will ensure it seats right and prevents leaks. Attach the master cylinder to the booster studs and then mount and tighten the nuts to 25 Nm (220 in. lbs.). Put the vacuum hose on the booster check valve, put the HCU back and screw the mounting nuts to 14 Nm (125 in. lbs.). Join the brake lines with the HCU, junction block and master cylinder, ensuring you use your hands to start the threads so they do not cross. Attach the wire to the fluid level switch where it is located in the bottom of the reservoir. Clear the lines by bleeding the brakes completely, checking for proper brakes before moving your car.
