2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Washer Pump for Your Windshield on 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: When you remove or install the windshield washer pump, use a new grommet to keep water leaks from happening. Start by fitting the new grommet into the reservoir and place the pump into it afterwards. Wrap the assembly with a plastic strap and snap it fully into the reservoir. Put the reservoir into the cowl and make sure the end of the hose that has a white stripe connects to the white area of the pump and the end with black goes to the black area. After that, join the pump wire and screw in the three reservoir retaining bolts, tightening them to 8 Nm (70 in. lbs.). Install the cowl cover, fasten it with four push retainers, then put on the rear engine compartment seal at the cowl. Before you connect the front wiper arms, make sure the wiper system is set to PARK and place the arms so the tip of the driver's wiper and the middle of the passenger's wiper line up with the park guide along the windshield. Position the arm at the far side from you and push towards the center on the pivot, then place the retaining nut, torque both the nut and nut cap to 21 Nm (190 in. lbs.). Attach the negative terminal cable to the battery, shut the hood and inspect the vehicle system.
