How to Properly Install an A/C Hose on 2010 Chrysler Town & Country?

Make sure the refrigerant oil level is correct so that installing the A/C discharge line does not cause problems in the A/C system. Whenever you are changing many A/C parts, check the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to find out how much oil to use. You should always take out and replace the rubber seals and gaskets on the lines when taking out refrigerant. Allow the fitting on the A/C discharge line to reach inside the engine compartment, then take out any covering or blockage from the side of all the refrigerant line fittings and the ports on the compressor and condenser. For new rubber O-ring seals, apply clean refrigerant oil and slip them on at the same time you fit the new gaskets onto the discharge line fittings, using the O-rings and oil approved for R-134a systems. Cover the A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor with a nut and turn it until it reaches 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). On the next step, tie the A/C discharge line to the condenser tapping block and screw firmly, applying a torque of 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). After finishing the positive battery connection, empty the refrigerant, keep checking the refrigerant oil level and charge the refrigeration system appropriately.
