2009 Chrysler Town & Country A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the A/C Hose Underbody Lines on 2009 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: First, take out the negative battery cable, drain the refrigerant from the system and then empty the cooling system. Lift up the vehicle properly, making certain to keep a light touch on any underbody heater lines or the rear heater hose quick connect fittings. Take out the insert in the rear quick connect fitting and, giving a little twist, slowly pull on the heater lines to remove them from the rear heater core tubes. Check, then lower the underbody heater lines and drain out any coolant that is leftover. Undo the fitting nuts that hold the underbody refrigerant lines to the underbody refrigerant extension lines behind the right rear wheel housing and unhook the refrigerant lines from the extensions. After, take out and throw away the O-ring seals. Take out the nut connecting the underbody refrigerant extension lines and sealing plate to the rear A/C expansion valve and remove the extension lines from the valve. Throw away the old O-ring seals. Untighten the nuts holding the underbody refrigerant lines to the front A/C liquid line and front A/C suction line, then take out the lines and throw away the O-ring seals. Should the hoses up front be cut during removal, they need to be replaced. With the spring-type clamps out of the way, remove the front heater hoses from their connections to the underbody heater lines. Position a jack stand behind the rear axle, take off the shock mount from the frame rail on the passenger side and ensure it's out of the way without touching the nearby ABS or brake wires. Take the rear brake line bracket off the frame rail and put it, along with the brake line and ABS wire lead, somewhere easy to see for now. Untie the exhaust system from the rubber isolated hangers and move it out of your way. Remove the six screws found under the vehicle and move and tilt the underbody lines to take them off the car. To finish, install plugs or place tape over the refrigerant line fittings and the rear expansion valve and in case it is required, set the extension lines and sealing plate on a workbench, take the nylon retaining clip off of the suction extension line and pull the suction line away from the sealing plate.
