2010 Chrysler Town & Country Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the Brake Master Cylinder on 2010 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Start by pumping the brake pedal with the engine off, because the reduced power brake vacuum will allow you to easily remove the master cylinder with only about 4 to 5 full pumps. Separate the negative cable that is attached to the battery. Carefully clean all parts of the brake fluid reservoir and master cylinder with a good parts cleaner such as Mopar(R) Brake Parts Cleaner. Remove the connector from the brake fluid level switch in the master cylinder brake reservoir. After that, unattach the brake tubes from the master cylinder and fill the open brake tube ports with sealing plugs. Always clean the section where the master cylinder meets the power brake booster to keep any dirt from moving into the booster. Remove the two nuts that hold the master cylinder to the power brake booster, then pull the master cylinder straight from the booster. When disassembly of the master cylinder is needed, follow the right set of removal guides.
