2010 Jeep Liberty Battery Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix Battery Cables on 2010 Jeep Liberty?
A: Take off any metal jewelry before trying to service or repair the cables, as they could be hurt from accidental current arcing. The process for left-hand drive gasoline engines is nearly the same for right-hand drive and diesel models. At first, unclamp the cable using a wrench, making sure the end isn't connected to anything else (2). After that, while careful not to drop the battery, loosen the bolt holding the positive cable until it can be removed (1). Release the negative end cable (6) from its cable stud (7) located where the inner fender is attached. Take away the cable assembly routing clips from the wall of the car underbody. Subsequently, remove the nut (1) that retains the positive cable from the Totally Integrated Power Module (3) and withdraw the cable (2) from the mounting stud. First, remove the positive cable nut (1) from terminal B+ and then take off the associated cable (2) on the generator. After that, take off the positive nut (4) attached to the starter motor's (3) B+ terminal and disconnect the cable (7) from the starter. Take the negative battery cable nut off the stud on the engine block and remove the cable from that stud. After that, trace and get rid of all battery cable retaining pushpins, fasteners and routing clips until the battery cables are ready to be taken out from the engine compartment.
