2010 Jeep Liberty Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Install and Adjust a Rear Wiper Arm on 2010 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before fitting the rear wiper arm, ensure the rear wiper motor is put into park by turning the ignition on, making sure the rear wiper switch is off and the ignition is now OFF. Wait for the wiper motor to stop moving when you see it slide, then switch off the ignition. Place the wiper arm in the position where the rear wiper motor shaft touches it. Mount the wiper arm to the liftgate so that the support is set on the park ramp and the sharp hole on the arm's pivot is placed on the wiper motor shaft located in the rear. Slide the mounting hole down on top of the output shaft, then add and tighten the nut connecting the wiper arm to the output shaft to 28 Nm or 21 ft. lbs. Once you've slipped on the nut, push the molded plastic nut cap over the nut at the pivot end of the rear wiper arm. Start by rinsing the liftgate glass with water, operate the rear wiper, turn it off and verify that the arm is held by the park ramp and is in a position away from the glass.
