Air Bag Sensor or commonly known as the crash sensor, is one of the main parts of the Jeep that can signify its reliability on safety. This is a tiny but crucial gadget that feels when an accident happens and sends signals to the control module to inflate the air bags and greatly improving the life of the passengers. The Air Bag Sensor has received commendation for its operation across the different models of Wrangler so that safety features are enabled to respond effectively in case of an accident. Performance can be seen crossing over generations of the Jeep Wrangler from the traditional two-door variety to the four-door 'Unlimited' models emphasizing on that aspect. Air Bag Sensor is critical because it shields the occupants as well as boosts the utility of the Jeep Wrangler safety features. Notably, redesign of the Air Bag Sensor has taken place in the past, aims at enhancing its sensitivity/ response and dependability and equally retaining within it the main purpose of sensing an impact. This evolution has been possible due to Jeep's commitment to providing innovation in the market of automobiles. Furthermore, it is important to pay attention to another Jeep Wrangler part, that is Air Bag Sensor since it interacts with safety technologies that meet high levels of safety in cars. In light of these findings, the Air Bag Sensor can be said to embody the company's strategy well, as it has shown its reliability in creating a safe environment for drivers and passengers of the Jeep Wrangler, thus solidifying the Jeep Wrangler as a market leader in compact SUVs.

Jeep Wrangler Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Install and Service an Air Bag Sensor on Jeep Wrangler?
    A:
Disable the supplemental restraint system by disconnecting and isolating the battery negative cable and wait two minutes so the system capacitor can discharge before working on the front impact sensor. Don't hit or drop the front impact sensor since it can be damaged or its settings can change; if it is dropped, the sensor will need to be swapped. Both types of sensors used in frontal and lateral impacts-side and front-can be swapped. Stick one impact sensor into the left or right front spot of the engine compartment and connect the engine compartment wire harness. Secure the sensor by placing it inboard of the right or left headlamp on the back of the front end module carrier with the anti-rotation pin fitting into its clearance hole. Place the sensor on the carrier and screw it in place when the wrench torque reading is 8 Nm (or 70 in. lbs.). Reconnecting the negative Battery Cable should be delayed until after running the supplemental restraint system test procedure after adjusting any component in the system.
