2010 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Fuel Rail on 2010 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Be sure to release the pressure from the fuel system before trying to take off the fuel rail, because it remains pressurized all the time. Eliminate your first step by taking off the fuel tank filler tube cap and move to the Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure. First, take out the negative battery cable at the battery then remove the top part of the intake manifold. Pull the connector out at every fuel injector by releasing the red slider from its attachment and then pulling up on the holding tab on the connector. There should be tags on the factory fuel injection wiring harness that show the injector positions; if not, note the wire places in your notebook before disconnecting them. Then, loosen the clip holding the fuel line on the rail and take the gas line from the rail. Remove the bolts at the four rail mounting points, then carefully rock and pull the left side of the rail to allow the fuel injectors to clear their holes. Repeat for the right side until you see that all the injectors have cleared the machined holes. In the last step, take out the fuel rail and injectors from the engine. When the fuel injectors need to be removed, use the instructions provided for their removal.
