2009 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Fuel Rail on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
A: You should check that the fuel system is deflated with the fuel tank filler tube cap out and do the Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure before removing the fuel rail. Break the connection on the negative battery cable and pull off the upper half of the intake manifold. Disconnect your car's fuel injectors by first moving the red slider far from each one, then pressing the tab to take out the connectors. The end of each wiring harness that connects to an injector has a tag; if the tag is missing, identify the wire location by sight before removing anything. Removing the latch clip from the fuel line and the line from the fuel rail is followed by unbolting the four mounts that hold the fuel rail. Gently rock and pull the fuel rail until the fuel injectors in the left side have cleared the holes, then do the same on the right side until clean. At the last step, detach the fuel rail with included injectors from the engine unit. Should the fuel injectors need to come out, do it according to the instructions.
