    Service and repair on the expansion valve should first involve removing the refrigerant from your system. If you have a vehicle with a 3.2/3.5 L engine, take off the engine air inlet tube and the air distribution duct. After that, take out one nut from the low-pressure lines at the expansion valve and loosen the bolt by the receiver/drier so you can move the lines away from the expansion valve. Plug the side of the refrigerant lines that is open, then carefully pull the air conditioning line out of the expansion valve. Take out the two #30 torx bolts next to the expansion valve on the a/c Evaporator and pull the expansion valve from the vehicle. It's important to install new O-rings when you replace the a/c expansion valve. During the new expansion valve installation, look for possible kinks or serious bends in the refrigerant plumbing; avoid these as they may decrease the system's effectiveness. It's important to seal all parts of the refrigerant system tightly to preserve air conditioning unit efficiency and to inspect flexible hose refrigerant lines once every year for proper condition and proper placement.
