  Q: How to Service an EGR Tube on Chrysler 300M?

  Before servicing the EGR tube, you should take out the negative Battery Cable and both the inlet tube and the resonator. After that, take out the EGR tube mounting clips at the intake manifold plenum, come loose with the transmission to throttle body bracket and take off two nuts and one bolt to remove the bracket from the studs. After that, keep the silicone seals from falling into the intake manifold and remove the EGR tube mounting screws which attach the EGR tube at the EGR Valve. Carefully clean the gasket areas on the EGR valve to ensure loose dirt does not cause it to leak, since this affects the valve's performance and makes for a poorly running engine and weak vacuum in the manifold. Once the EGR tube is out, install some improved rubber silicone seals on the intake manifold for the tube. Installing a new gasket, gently put the EGR tube into the intake manifold and then secure it to the EGR valve using a loose fit. Fasten both EGR tube to EGR valve screws to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque, next put the clips for the EGR tube in place at the intake manifold plenum, rejoin the transmission with the throttle body bracket, reattach the air inlet tube and resonator and lastly place the negative battery cable back on.

  Q: How to Remove and Install an EGR Tube in the Intake Manifold on Chrysler 300M?

  The EGR tube is mounted on the bottom of the intake manifold plenum right next to the Throttle Body. Disconnect the cable connected to the negative terminal of the battery and take out the air inlet tube as well as the resonator. Then, disconnect both EGR tube mounting clips from the intake manifold, release the transmission to throttle body bracket and remove the three screws holding the bracket to the studs. Lift off the EGR upper tube assembly and take care not to lose the silicone rubber seals when removing the mounting screws at the EGR Valve. Make sure to wipe the gasket portion of the EGR valve, because unwanted dirt can lead to it leaking, giving you an uneven idling and less vacuum in the exhaust. After getting rid of the EGR tube, put on new rubber silicone seals at the intake manifold side, checking they aren't damaged or wrongly positioned. Install a fresh gasket on the EGR tube, put it loosely into the intake manifold and secure it loosely on the EGR valve. Afterwards, fasten the EGR tube to the EGR valve screws to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque in the final step. After that, join the clips for the EGR tube on the intake manifold, secure the transmission to its bracket, connect the air inlet tube and resonator and reconnect the negative battery cable.
