Get inside the cigarette lighter to find the rectangular retaining bosses holding the receptacle base. Snap ring pliers should be used to get the pliers' tips into the retaining bosses, then squeeze lightly as you slowly pull out the receptacle base. After you can get to the receptacle base, take apart the wire harness connector from the cigarette lighter and remove the part. To mount the receptacle, link the wire harness connector to the base, then place the mount and make the splines in the base and the grooves in the mount meet. Squeeze the base of the receptacle until it flows into the retaining bosses. After that, secure the new knob and element or cap and attach the battery's negative cable back.
