Note that a seat with a heavy load can be locked by a mechanism, as shown by problems such as the locking pawl loosening, the locking pawl being in the frame on one side, the inability to adjust height to both sides or missing or broken shear pins. Should you experience any of these problems, never attempt to fix them; instead, get an audio expert to replace the height adjuster assembly. On the front tilt motor, mount it on the seat adjuster, fix it in place with the fasteners and tighten the screws to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Attach the motor's electrical connector, put the seat cushion in place, link the wire harness to the cushion pan, assemble the seat, attach the battery negative cable and test that everything is working properly on the power seat assembly. Make sure the motor is set above the groove on the seat, fit the shaft of the motor onto the seat adjuster and don't tighten the screw or washer yet. Install both screws holding the motor to the adjuster, turning the motor slightly to line up the fastener holes. First, screw the three base motor bolts to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.), then tighten the motor shaft bolt and washer to 6.5 Nm (57.5 in. lbs.). Place the seat motor connector on its wiring and attach it to the seat, install the seat's padding, secure the wire harness to it, fix the seat assembly, attach the negative battery cable and confirm that everything runs well.
