First, remove the remote ground cable from the stud on the left strut tower and then install the ground cable insulator to make sure it does not ground by accident. If the vehicle is ready, pull the plug from the speed control servo in the wiring harness and remove the two nuts from the bottom of the servo to the strut tower, but don't detach the cable. Separate the vacuum harness and electrical connector from the purge solenoid and after that take out the solenoid. Unplug the vacuum hoses from the check valve attached to the power brake vacuum booster and take the EGR valve transducer assembly together with its hoses out of your way. Take off the special brake fluid level sensor harness from the master cylinder and remove the two nuts that link the master cylinder assembly to the power brake vacuum booster. Before you remove the brake tubes, gently bring down the entire master cylinder and tubes assembly onto the transaxle. Get to the brake vacuum booster input rod through the floor underneath the instrument panel. Then use a small screwdriver to pop out the clip that retains the brake pedal pin and discard it. Remove the bolts that join the power brake vacuum booster to the rear wall of the dash which you can reach from under the dash. To remove your booster, slide it away from the dash, turn it and tilt it so it's facing you and don't disassemble any parts. To install, put the brake booster in its place on the dash panel and tighten each of the four mounting nuts to 29 Nm (250 inch lbs.). Use lubriplate or a similar lubricant on the booster input rod-to-brake pedal pin areas, hook up the input rod to the brake pedal pin and put in a fresh retaining clip. Attach the master cylinder on the power brake unit, so each push rod is placed on its stud and tighten both nuts to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.). Join the master cylinder brake fluid level sensor to the wiring harness, place and secure the purge controller on the left side of the front frame and tighten the bolt. Secure the EGR transducer assembly onto the EGR valve and join the wiring harness, ensuring you lock the retaining clip. Link all previously removed vacuum hoses to the power brake vacuum booster check valve and if present, mount the speed control servo on the driver's strut tower using two nuts tightened to 6 Nm (55 inch lbs.). Next, look at the brake light switch and confirm it is working correctly by giving the vehicle a road test.
