Pacifica piston is made from aluminum alloys that are strong and ideal for petrol and diesel engines include innovations such as cooling cavities and gas-tight piston rings. Different types of pistons used in Pacifica include the trunk pistons as well as the racing pistons whereby these pistons are specialized with different driving characteristics depending on the mode of driving of the specific model of the car. Piston is not only influential in affecting the performance of the vehicle it also plays a crucial role in increasing safety and efficiency thus making it a strategic part in today's market. By virtue of its light manufacturing, steady housing structure and superior engineering, Pacifica Piston allows high rpm and perfect balance for even a superb driving adventure. Chrysler Pacifica Piston Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Are Pistons Installed into the Bore with Connecting Rod Assemblies on Chrysler Pacifica?
    A:
Be certain when fitting the pistons and connecting rods into the engine that rings 2 and 5 are at different heights, both displaced from alignment with oil ring gap 1 and 4. Check that the arrow on top of the piston is pointing toward the engine's front, if it has one. Use clean engine oil to lubricate the piston and rings, then set a ring compressor over them and tighten it so the rings do not move. Lay the upper bearing on the connecting rod and oil it. Connecting rod protectors should be installed with tool #8189. The top of each piston bears an arrow; you should set the pistons so that the arrows face the front of the engine on both sides, allowing the connecting rod oil squirt hole to be beside the major thrust (right) side. Place the connecting rod on the Crankshaft and turn the crankshaft so that the journal of the connecting rod is lined up in the cylinder bore, then carefully tap down the head of the piston with a hammer handle to push the connecting rod and piston into the bore. Place the lower bearing shell and the right size of connecting rod cap, then secure each rod bolt at 7 Nm, add another 21 Nm and end with each bolt turned 90° for the required tightness. Repeat for every piston and connecting rod fitment. After the valve covers, set in the cylinder heads and Oil Pan and put the correct amount of oil in the crankcase. Connect the negative Battery Cable after this.
  • Q: How to Remove and Replace a Piston and Connecting Rod on Chrysler Pacifica?
    A:
So that you can take out the piston and connecting rod, first detach the battery's negative cable and afterward, remove the cylinder heads and the Oil Pan. Should it be required, remove the top ridge using a proper ridge reamer prior to removing the pistons, to keep the tops of the pistons protected during this stage. You should extract the piston and connecting rod from each cylinder, so turn the Crankshaft to center the connecting rods. Check the connecting rods and their caps for the identities of the cylinders; paint or scribe them if you spot a need. Taking off the cap on the connecting rod, then place connectors over the bolts or use tool #8189 to position the cracked connecting rod. Take each piston and connecting rod assembly out of the cylinder bore without damaging the crankshaft journals and then set the bearing cap onto the removed rod.
