To take out the Antilock Brake Hydraulic Control Assembly, first separate the negative
Battery Cable from the battery post and isolate it. Use a brake pedal holding tool to press the brake pedal past the first inch of travel. This presses the master cylinder against the brake hose and will not let brake fluid drain when you disconnect the
Brake Lines. Once that's done, take off the engine appearance cover, then undo both the lower and upper mounting nuts and take away the exhaust heat shield on the dash panel. Start by loosening the brake tube bundle routing clips from the dash panel studs, then pull both the primary (4) and secondary (1) brake tubes away from the master cylinder on the hydraulic control unit (7). Remove the remaining brake tubes (2, 3, 5 and 6) from the hydraulic control unit (7) after that. Open the connector cover on the ABM by pressing down on the little tabs and pulling up on the connector itself at the bottom end of the cover. Gently unscrew the two screws holding the ICU mounting bracket (1) in place on the body, without releasing them completely; lift the ICU and its bracket off the screws. Don't bend the brake tubes and get the ICU with bracket out the gap between the lines of the A/C and the
Exhaust Manifold. Seperate the ABM from the HCU by disassembling the Integrated Control Unit.
