When servicing or repairing the EGR tube, discharge the negatively charged
Battery Cable before removing the air cleaner box. After that, eliminate the clamping bolt from the EGR tube at the
Intake Manifold and pull the clamp out of its slot. Remove the two bolts from the
EGR Valve and next remove the tube and gasket. If there are any defects on the rubber silicone seal in the intake manifold, replace it. While installing, make sure all surfaces are clean and if the intake manifold's rubber silicone seal looks damaged, replace it. Replace the gasket where the EGR tube and EGR valve connect, secure the EGR valve bolts only slightly and fit the clamp in the manifold slot, screwing the bolt to 11.3 Nm (100 in. lbs.). After that, secure the EGR valve bolts to 11.3 Nm (100 in. lbs.), reattach the air cleaner box and attach the negative battery cable again.
