For the timing cover installation, ensure the sealing surfaces are free from grease and oil, then apply engine sealant RTV (or an equivalent) at the cylinder head, ladder frame and the corner of the
Oil Pan and block. Put a 2 mm line of Mopar(R) engine sealant RTV (or equivalent) around the oil pan and the engine block as well. Lift the timing chain cover into place under the vehicle and secure it with the upper bolts tightened to 9 Nm (80 in lbs) if M6 and 26 Nm (230 in lbs) firmness is needed for M8 bolts. After that, install the accessory drive
Belt Tensioner,
Engine Mount bracket, upper idler pulley and engine mount and remove the jack from under the engine. Put in the
Power Steering Pump, lift up the vehicle and fix the oil pan to timing chain cover lower retaining bolts. Fasten the timing chain cover retaining bolts after that and complete the process by following with the water pump pulley and crankshaft pulley bolts. Add the accessory
Drive Belt lower idler pulley, lower A/C compressor mounting bracket and A/C compressor and then set up the accessory drive belt. After that, fit the right lower splash shield, raise the car and set the cylinder head cover into place. Attach the two electrical terminals on the coil, connect the PCV hose to the PCV valve and make up the air hose to the engine. Attach and install the
Power Steering Reservoir, the coolant recovery bottle, fill the cooling system and put the air cleaner housing back in place. Then, hook up the negative
Battery Cable and as the last step snap on the engine cover.
