When installing the power steering pump on a 2.0L/2.4L engine, first clean the pressure hose and the port on the pump with a dry towel, change any worn O-rings with new ones and apply a bit of clean power steering fluid to the rings. Attach the pump where it will be located and screw in the bolts through the pulley holes until the torque reaches 26 Nm (19 ft.lbs.). Now, fit the
Drive Belt, after which you should install the supply hose at the pump while securing it with a hose clamp. Put the pressure hose onto the pump pressure port and secure it with a tube nut tightened to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.) and then attach the pressure hose routing bracket bolt to the
Engine Mount and tighten it to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Give the power steering system fresh fluid, look for any leaks and lastly, attach the engine appearance cover.
