Before servicing or repairing the Canister Purge Valve, cut off the negative battery cable at the battery. Disconnect electrical connector 4 from evaporator purge valve 1 and afterwards remove purge hose 3 from evaporator purge valve 1. Afterward, free quick connect fuel tank hose 2 from evaporator purge valve 1, then push the tab and remove evaporator purge valve 1 from body bracket 5.

How to Properly Install a Canister Purge Valve on Dodge Caliber?

Ensure the valve's TOP sign is aligned before installing the Canister Purge Valve. Join vacuum tube 2 to the valve as your first task, then place the other end of electrical connector 1 on top and hold it securely. After that, fitting the valve onto its bracket and reconnect the negative battery cable. After that, reinstall the air cleaner box and the resonator assembly.
