Start by recovering the refrigerant and disconnecting the vehicle's battery negative cable. Lift off the air cleaner housing from its spot on the engine compartment's right side and remove the drain tube from the wiper drain system. Disconnect the wire connector from the A/C pressure transducer, next, unscrew the screw holding the front liquid line rear section fitting to the top of the receiver/drier and then pull out the liquid line fitting from the receiver/drier outlet port and throw out the seal. Make sure the opened liquid line fitting and receiver/drier outlet ports are plugged or taped over. Remove the fastener securing the suction and liquid lines to the expansion valve, then disconnect the fittings and take the lines away, throwing away the seals. Again, place plugs or tape over the opened fittings as well as both expansion valve ports. Loosen and take out the two screws on the A/C expansion valve that hold it to the evaporator tube tapping plate. For models with ATC, remove the HVAC wire harness connector from the evaporator temperature sensor and take out the A/C expansion valve from both inlet tube and outlet tube fittings, tossing the seals afterwards. Should this be applicable, remove the retainer and sensor of the evaporator temperature sensor near the A/C expansion valve. For installation, be sure to replace any grease that came off with the evaporator temperature sensor. When your model is ATC equipped, you should install the evaporator temperature sensor and retainer to the A/C expansion valve. Clear the tape or brushes from the two fittings on the evaporator tube and the two ports at the back of the A/C expansion valve. Swipe refrigerant oil on the new rubber seals and place them on the evaporator's inlet and outlet fitting tubes. After that, mount the A/C expansion valve onto those tubes. Wrap the two screws around the A/C expansion valve to the evaporator tube tapping plate and tighten them to 11 Nm force (97 in. lbs.). If your car has ATC, link the HVAC connector on the wire harness to the evaporator temperature sensor. Release the tape from the front liquid line rear section and both suction line fittings and the two ports on the front of the expansion valve. Cover the new rubber O-ring seals with refrigerant oil and then fit them to the front liquid line rear section and suction line fittings, before connecting them to the expansion valve. Secure the nut on the stud of the expansion valve to the suction line and liquid line fittings, then tighten it to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Pull away the tape or plugs from the rear section fitting and the receiver/drier port, apply refrigerant oil on a new rubber O-ring seal and put it over the liquid line fitting. Pick up the liquid line fitting and attach it to the receiver/drier outlet, then tighten its screw to the receiver/drier trunk using a torque of 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). Attach the wire harness connector to the A/C pressure transducer, put the drain tube back into the wiper module drain, set the air cleaner housing in place and attach the battery negative cable. After all the priming is done, evacuate and charge the refrigerant system.
