Before you begin, turn off the supplemental restraint system by removing the vehicle's negative
Battery Cable and waiting two minutes for the signaling capacitor to drain. Because the impact sensor can be damaged by Force on the Occupant Restraint Controller, you should not strike or drop it; if you drop the
Air Bag Control Module, this part must be changed. With vehicles that have an Occupant Classification System, you should not replace both the Occupant Restraint Controller and the Occupant Classification Module at once, because this will set a fault in both that cannot be reversed. When required, install any required spring nuts into the dash panel and set the instrument panel assembly into the vehicle by the driver's side. Feed the steering column end through the opening in the dash, then secure it onto the supports in the panel. Loose all securing bolts; then, tighten the bolts from top of the instrument panel to 8 Nm, the side support bolts to 27 Nm and the bottom bolts to 6 Nm. Attach the end caps and the defroster grille and next join the wire harness connectors along the A-pillars before adding the A-pillar trim panels. Attach the wire harness connectors to the instrument panel harness, secure the antenna coax onto the instrument panel coax extension and slide in the center floor console. Attach the wire harness connectors from the body to both the transmission control module and the instrument panel. Set up the steering column when required, place the instrument panel
Steering Column Cover reinforcement on its bracket and screw it tightly into place. Slot the steering column cover into its place in the car, attach the hood release cable to the hood handle and attach the harness to the trunk switch. Use screws to help you secure the steering column cover on the instrument panel and then install the left and right instrument panel silencers, then put in the glove box. Lastly, support the car, put the steering column on the steering attachment and lift the vehicle.
