The first step is to disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable to remove and replace the compressor clutch. Snap Ring Pliers 9764 or an equivalent tool can be used to place the snap ring that fastens the compressor field coil after you ensure the ring is fully in the right groove. Prevent untimely contact with the friction plate by not harming the pulley and bearing assembly. Repeat with fitting the pulley and bearings onto the compressor; use a block of wood to gently tap them on if you find it hard to get them in place.
