Before installing the combination switch, make sure the supplemental restraint system is disabled by removing the battery negative cable, leaving it off for two minutes to drain the capacitor. On the left side of the multi-function switch, slide it into the multi-function switch mounting housing so that the alignment pins are correctly engaged. With two screws, lock the switch into the bushings and tighten them at 2 Nm, adding the wire harness connector to the end of the switch. Set the lower shroud onto the steering column and connect a center screw down below, carefully adjusting it to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) tightness. Lay the upper shroud onto the lower shroud, pressing the gearshift lever gap hider in place, then snap them together and hold by hand to secure them. Secure the upper shroud to the lower shroud by installing and tightening two outboard screws, both to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Fit the knob onto the actuator of the tilt adjuster and fix it with a screw turned to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) Before attaching the
Steering Wheel, place the yellow rubber booted engagement dowel from the Clock Spring rotor between the two hub fins at the steering wheel's armature. Attach the steering wheel to the steering column and plug the steering wheel wire harness connectors back in, keeping the harness aligns properly. After that, put the driver
Air Bag back into the steering wheel and reattach the negative battery cable.
