After removing the manifold and its nuts, if studs come out as well, put in some studs and cover the coarse threads on both ends with sealer to stop water leaks. Rest the exhaust manifold and its gasket against the two studs of the cylinder head and then add conical washers and nuts to the studs. Finish by adding all the conical washers and tighten all the bolts and nuts at the center arm, then work your way out to each nut and tighten each to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) torque. After that, fit the
Exhaust Heat Shields and lift and support the vehicle, remembering to tighten the heat shield fasteners carefully so the shields don't get distorted or cracked. Place the
Exhaust Pipe onto the manifold and tie it in place with bolts, nuts and retainers, tightening the connections to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). Installing the left exhaust manifold uses the same steps, with similar care for the studs, correct torque values and handling of the heat shield.
