Sitting in the exhaust loop, the Dodge EGR Cooler cools spent gases to reduce nitrogen oxides. Dodge has always been in favor of durability and muscle. The first all-steel body was introduced in 1914. Until HEMI thunder became a calling card, the brothers made heavy engines in bigger and bolder frames. When the Viper arrived, it was obvious speed outweighs courtesy in a sports car. Dodge has now introduced the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust to the electric side, pumping out 600 watts of sound and providing a choice to drivers of Drag, Donut, or silence. Throughout the years, Dodge cars remain simple to comprehend, designed for people who want punch rather than polish. With Dodge, no hidden jargon, just real volume instead of buzzwords. Integrated into the circuit of exhaust gas recirculation is the EGR Cooler, which looks like a radiator. As engine coolant flows outside, hot fumes travel along narrow metal tubes within the engine. Gas follows liquid and heats up, dropping its temperature before the mixture goes into the intake again. Less nitrogen oxides and more stable fuel economy means cooler exhaust. If there is no leak found and the coolant suddenly disappears from the overflow bottle, the EGR Cooler has cracked and the fluid is leaking into the pipe and out the tail. Neglecting to heed such a suggestion can result in baked gaskets and increased emissions. Having a sound EGR Cooler protects the engine and keeps the environment cleaner.
