First disconnect negative battery cable and partially drain cooling system to service Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Then you remove the engine coolant sensor from the coolant outlet tube by disconnecting the electrical connector. For installation take the time and apply thread sealant to the sensor threads before bolting the engine coolant temperature sensor into the coolant outlet tube. Connect the electrical connector to the engine coolant temperature sensor and then tighten the sensor with 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
