Once that is done, insert Special Tool 8194 into the crankshaft nose and unlock the seal with Special Tool 6771, Remover. To install, start by using Special Tools 6780-2 Sleeve, 6780-1 Installer and 8179 Stud. At last, reinstall the crankshaft vibration damper.

Add Special Tools 8225 to the pan rail with the oil pan fasteners before turning them so the "2.7L" stamp lines up with the cylinder block and the seal flange rests against the block's sealing surface for the pan. Apply firm pressure to the seal assembly through Special Tools 8225, screw in the assembly's screws to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) and then carefully remove the special tool. Install the oil pan, flex plate, backing plate and attaching bolts and then set in the transmission. Attach the retaining bolts to the lower splash shield, set the shield in place, lower the vehicle, top up the oil, unhook the positive battery cable and check for leaks.
