  When working on a 2.7L engine, remove any dirt or damage from the intake gasket, check for issues and if it's damaged, exchange it. The first task is to put in the throttle body gasket. Make sure you do not tighten more than needed; over-torquing may cause damage to the throttle body, gaskets, bolts and Intake Manifold. Then, screw the throttle body and bolts into the intake manifold, using a required torque order by tightening the bolts diagonally to 5.5 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Secure the throttle body, then attach the electrical connector, set the throttle body air intake hose and tighten the clamp. After that, attach the negative Battery Cable again and complete the step with a scan tool by triggering the Etc Relearn process.

  For servicing the throttle body, first remove the negative cable from the battery, then pull out the inlet hose, separate the electrical connectors and take off the vacuum hose as well. After that, unscrew the three bolts securing the throttle body and take it off, while cleaning the surfaces where it was joined. Place the throttle body gasket to start and then attach the throttle body and secure it using the bolts, tightened to 11.9 Nm. Attach the ends of the electrical cables and vacuum tubing, set in the inlet hose and tighten the clamp. After finishing the rest, put the negative cable back onto the battery. If the ETC Relearn process isn't applied via the Scan Tool and access to the Miscellaneous menu, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set. Should there be any DTC's set, access the scan tool and erase them from the PCM.
