Dodge Neon Fuse Box Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a Fuse Box on Dodge Neon?
    A:
As a complete unit, the Power Distribution Center (PDC) is serviced along with its engine harness, so should their internal circuits be faulty or damaged, everything including the PDC and engine compartment wire harness must be changed. First, isolate the battery negative cable, then remove every connector in the engine compartment. Then, take out the fasteners holding each engine compartment wire harness ground eyelet to vehicle body and chassis parts and detach all the retainers securing the wire harness to the same body and chassis areas. One screw needs to be removed first to separate the PDC housing from the left inner fender well, then the whole engine compartment wire harness and PDC assembly can be unhooked from the engine compartment as a single piece. For installation, when changing the PDC, make sure every fuse and relay from the old unit is put in the new PDC in their proper places. In the engine compartment, put the PDC in position and correctly line up the PDC mounting pin with the fender well hole, then insert the retaining screw. Feed the engine compartment wire harness connected to the PDC along its designated route, securing it at every point to the mounting provisions of the body and chassis provided for this purpose. Secure every wire harness ground eyelet in the engine compartment to the body and chassis using screws, reinstall each connector and tighten the screw seenog the positive Battery Cable at the PDC to 85 - 130 in lb. Three steps from now, establish the battery's ground or negative connection.
