Bear in mind to start by disconnecting and isolating the battery's negative cable before working on the clutch. After that, take out the accessory
Drive Belt. Remove the wire coming from the engine to the connector above the clutch field coil of the A/C compressor. Take out the bolts that join the A/C compressor to the engine and prop up the compressor. Separate the compressor clutch field coil connector from the wire lead which is connected to the connector bracket. Remove the compressor shaft bolt by holding the clutch plate from rotating with a band-type oil filter wrench or strap wrench. Do not push between the clutch plate and the pulley and bearing because it can damage the clutch and try not to misplace any clutch shims you find. Gently strike the clutch plate with a plastic mallet to let go the splines on the compressor shaft, then remove the clutch plate and any shim(s) attached. With Snap Ring Pliers 9764 or the same kind, replace the snap ring holding the pulley and bearing assembly in place at the front of the A/C compressor and remove the assembly. Lastly, remove the front snap ring at the compressor clutch with Snap Ring Pliers 9764 or a similar tool, then lift the field coil up and away from the unit.
