Before you remove the fuel rail on a 3.7L engine, release the pressure from the fuel system, because it stays under pressure even when the engine is switched off. Both left and right fuel rails are changed out as one unit and you must not take them apart at the connection tubes which don't require clamps. The first step is to remove the fuel tank filler tube cap and afterwards remove the negative
Battery Cable. After that, disconnect the
Air Duct and air box at the
Throttle Body, followed by the air resonator mounting bracket which you hold in place only by two bolts. Use the special tool to separate the fuel line latch clip and fuel line from the fuel rail. Pull out the vacuum lines at the throttle body and unplug all electrical connectors from every one of the six
Fuel Injectors, pressing down on their tabs while pushing their red sliders away. For easy identification, the factory fuel injection wiring harness is tagged by injector position. Take out all electrical connectors from the throttle body sensors and sweep aside the six
Ignition Coils before cleaning them. Following this, take out the screws that hold the fuel rail. Rock and pull the left-sided fuel rail softly so that the injectors clear the machined openings, then do the same on the right side to release all of the injectors. Remove the fuel rail with attached injectors from the engine as your last step. If it's necessary to replace the fuel injectors, use the right procedure to remove them.
