First, open the lower column cover and then pull out the Data Link Connector, the hood release and park brake release levers from the knee blocker. Then, bring out the knee blocker to get to the switch. As you're holding the brake pedal in, rotate the brake lamp switch counterclockwise about 30° to unlock it, pull the switch out from the mounting bracket and let go of the brake pedal. Take the wire harness off and eliminate the switch from your vehicle. To install, link the wire harness to the switch and then again push and hold the brake pedal. Line up the switch locking collar in the switch bracket and then push the switch into the bracket, turning the switch by 30° so it can't be taken out. Release the brake, lift the lever on top of the switch to push the plunger and take out the shim. You should keep in mind that the switch can only be changed at installation time; if not set correctly, a new switch must be fit. After removing the cap for the lower column, start with the knee blocker, Data Link Connector and the levers for the hood and park brake.
