Be sure to start with safety measures to avoid lighting the air bags in vehicles that have them before handling the headlamp switch. Before touching the ceramic dimmer resistor, let it rest if the headlamp switch had been operating. You should first remove and isolate the battery cable that carries a minus sign from the battery. Take the cluster bezel off the instrument panel, then unscrew the headlamp switch bezel that's attached to it. Take out the wires connected to the instrument panel from the headlamp switch. To detach the switch control knob, pull it upwards to the ON position, then press down the release button on top of the headlamp switch. Following this, unfasten the spanner nut holding the switch bezel and mounting bracket to the headlamp switch, then remove those parts. The next step is to fit the handle and mounting bracket onto the headlamp switch and tighten it up with the spanner nut. Tighten the knob shaft to secure the headlamp into the switch and then secure the switch to the instrument panel, then reconnect the instrument panel wires. Set the headlamp switch bezel on the instrument panel and use a wrench to tighten the screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). After that, place the cluster bezel back in place and connect the negative cable of the battery.
