O2S sensors are fitted at the beginning and ending points of the catalytic converter. When you remove the oxygen sensor, do not cover the electrical connector with grease and refrain from soldering the sensor wiring harness, since it needs oxygen from outside the exhaust system, sent through its pigtail harness. So, before continuing, make sure the engine has cooled, because the manifold, the pipes and the converter heat up a lot when the engine runs. Raise the vehicle and detach the wire connector from the O2S sensor, remembering not to pull on the wire going into the sensor. The best way to remove an O2S sensor is with an oxygen sensor tool. See that each new oxygen sensor already includes anti-seize coating from the factory, so more is not required. Put in the O2S sensor, tighten it at 30 Nm or 22 ft. lbs. and then attach the O2S sensor connector before unfolding the vehicle.
