How to service and repair the outer tie rod end on Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

Before doing anything, lift up and support the car so the outer tie rod end can be worked on. Use Puller C-3894-A to dismount the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle or center link after you remove the tie-rod end ball stud's cotter pin and retaining nut. Following, release the tie-rod sleeve clamp bolts and pull the tie-rod end out of its sleeve. First, slide the tie-rod end into the sleeve and then attach it to the steering knuckle arm or center link. Secure the nut, turn it so it shows 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.) for LD 9/16 ball stud or 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) for HD 5/8 ball stud and add in a new cotter pin. Remove the vehicle supports when done, set it back down and then adjust the toe on the wheel.
