Open the cargo door in the rear and take off the inner door trim before repairing or replacing the door handle. Remove the rod between the handle and latch, take out the nuts and then remove the handle. When installing, place the handle on the door's outer side, push the handle rod into the opening and make the handle studs line up with the holes on the panel. Carefully connect the door handle rod to the latch, fasten nuts on the other side of the door to align with the panel and put the door's out trim back on. Through the slot in the latch release lever adjustment screw, insert a 4 mm (5/32 in.) hex-wrench and turn it to loosen the lever. Release and close the handle outside door latch release button several times, after that tighten the adjustment screw to a torque of 3 N.m (30 in. lbs.) before checking the handle operation.
