Start by disconnecting and separating the battery negative cable to stop the air bag system and then wait two minutes for its capacitor to drain, just in case. The first thing to do is to unplug the a/c heater control from the harness connector that's connected to the HVAC housing in the tunnel under the driver's side of the instrument panel. After that, separate the heater control half of the vacuum harness from the center distribution duct as shown in the manual. Separate the cluster bezel from the instrument panel and get rid of the four screws fixing the a/c heater control in place. Lift out the a/c heater control assembly to reach the electrical connectors at the rear and then pull the wire harness and (if necessary) the heated mirror wire harness connector from the outside of the assembly. Main installation, plug the wire harness connectors(s) into the receptacle(s) at the a/c heater control back, route the HVAC vacuum harness through the hole in the brace covering the opening below the a/c heater control and mount the control in the instrument panel with four screws. Reassemble the cluster bezel, slide under the instrument panel to fasten the a/c heater control vacuum harness retainer to the side of the main duct, connect the two halves of the a/c heater control to the HVAC housing vacuum harness and attach the battery negative cable.
